Cardboard boxes

Cardboard boxes are industrially prefabricated. They are used mainly for the purpose of packaging of goods and other materials. They are heavy paper like materials and they also include corrugated fiberboard, card stock and paperboard etc.
First commercial paperboard which was not corrugated  was produced in England in 1817. The introduction of flaked cereals was the cause of increased use of paperboard.  First corrugated cardboard box was manufactured in 1895 in USA. By early 1900’s wooden boxes and crates were replaced by corrugated paper shipping cartons.
Cardboard and other similar paper- based materials can also be used for the construction of range of products(for projects), children toys, science experiment models etc. Cardboard boxes are light weight, very convenient to handle while loading and unloading, packaging etc. Raw material used for cardboard boxes is very inexpensive that’s why these boxes are very much affordable.
Corrugated cardboard boxes also have better graphics and printing capabilities. Enterprises have taken advantage from these boxes to a great extent and have used them for their logos, their name printing and for other promotional and advertisement purposes as well. These boxes are present in various shapes and can also be mold as per one’s requirement i.e according to the various sizes, shapes and colors. Another advantage of cardboard boxes is that they are made from the natural renewable resources and they are recyclable also which makes them friendly for the environment.
Cardboard boxes are primary choice for storage of items and their shipping. They are used for the packaging of food items due to their quality and safety. We need not to worry about the damage of our sensitive items like jewellery etc  when it is enclosed in a cardboard box. And also cardboard box can be broken into jewellery box and shoe box as well.
Another safety attached to cardboard boxes is that they have no sharp edges which make them safe and friendly for children and one need not to worry about the damage and wound it may cause to one’s child while transporting and packaging goods. They can be stack against each other which makes it less spacious. They are as light as bunch of old newspapers, containers or straw.
For packaging of relatively heavy items and goods, cardboard boxes are not very suitable and preferred because they do not bear much weight. In extreme pressure and heat these boxes might get deformed.

In the future these boxes are intended to be manufactured from recycling the material rather than trees.
